After our arrival at Tenerife South Airport, our guides or a driver will greet us at the exit of the arrival hall with a worldwide hiking sign. As soon as all the guests are there, we drive to our accommodation. In the evening everyone meets for dinner and getting to know each other. Our hiking guides Carmen and Andreas will inform us about the course of the hiking week.

2nd day:
To the sources “El Chorrillo” and “Las Pilas”
From our accommodation we start today’s hike on a small path and cross the Königsschlucht gorge. We get first impressions of the typical vegetation of the so-called “Medianías”, the middle altitudes where agriculture is still practiced on the island today. We also pass the upper part of the “Barranco del Infierno”, the hell canyon. On our way we always have breathtaking views of the south coast of Tenerife.
Hike: approx. 4 hours (approx. 10 km, +/- 200 m)

3rd day:
El Sombrero de Chasna
“The hat of Chasna” is our topic for today. This rises on the southern rim of the Cañadas del Teide crater. After a half-hour drive uphill into the national park, we start
our tour at around 1900 m and reach an altitude of 2400 m. The path leads us through a wonderfully fragrant pine forest up to the edge of the crater. From here you have a stunning view of the amphitheater that surrounds the Teide, the highest mountain in Spain.
Hike: approx. 4 hours (approx. 8 km, +/- 500 m)

4th day:
To the “Roque Imoque”
Named after a Guanche princess, this striking mountain is the Matterhorn of the south. After breakfast we hike around the volcanic cone, past old water pipes and former potato fields, always with spectacular views of the sea. Succulents and cacti line our way. Depending on the season, a sea of daisies and tabaibas blooms here.

5th day:
Teide National Park
After a drive of approx. 45 minutes we arrive in the Cañadas, in the middle of which is the volcanic giant Teide. On our hike we enjoy wonderful views of the sleeping volcano. Walking on tuff, we experience different lava structures. The play of colors of black basalt streams and yellow, acidic lava is rich in contrast. The fascinating history of the volcano makes this visit unforgettable every time.

6th day:
Paisaje lunar
After a short journey we start in the mountain village of Vilaflor. After a steep ascent we come to a forest path, the so-called “Camino Madre del Agua”. It goes steadily uphill through a sparse pine forest and we reach various viewpoints that give us views of the white lunar landscape. The tuff minarets made of light pumice stone are a natural wonder!

Today we have a well-deserved day of rest to personalize. Whatever the mood, we can sunbathe, go shopping or follow the tips of our hiking guide. If you want, you can stay in the accommodation to relax or go on a hike on your own. Alternatively, an excursion to the island’s capital Santa Cruz is offered. We visit a very nice colorful market, “Nuestra Señora de AFRICA”, and have the opportunity to try some of the delicious freshly made tapas. Then we stroll through the beautiful old town together (duration of the excursion approx. 4 hours, price depending on the number of participants approx. EUR 70.00 p.p., payable on site). Those who prefer a day at the beach are brought to the beach in Los Cristianos and back for free.
